Japan slaps new sanctions, bans construction, engineering for Russia
TOKYO, May 26 (PRIME) -- Japan has banned the provision of construction and engineering services for Russia and forbidden exports of several types of goods in the framework of a new sanctions package, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said late Thursday.
The details of the prohibitions containing the list of goods to be barred from exports will be published later, the ministry said.
The authority blacklisted several Russian aircraft producers, such as Ural, Sokol, Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Irkutsk; several engineering companies and carmaker GAZ Group. A total of 78 organizations and 17 people were put on the list.
Exports were forbidden to 80 Russian organizations, including the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation and All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute Signal. The restriction shall come in force from June 2.
